A wedding seating chart checklist
Turn one checked guest list into a seating chart, place cards and table numbers.
Finalize names and table labels first
Use a CSV with name and table columns. Keep one guest per row, including people who share a household. Check spelling and duplicate names before importing. For guests with identical names, add a recognizable initial so the list can distinguish them.
Use the same labels everywhere
A table named Garden should also be Garden on the place cards and table number. ReceptionKit derives all three pieces from your list, reducing manual retyping. The editor supports up to 250 guests; larger lists can add seating-chart and place-card pages.
Plan the paper and the last-minute update
The chart is A3, place cards are laid out on A4 and table numbers on A5. Open the sample PDFs, ask your printer about those paper sizes, and make one physical proof at actual size. Save a backup of the checked list so a late table change does not mean starting again.
Your preparation checklist
- Final guest names
- One table assignment per row
- Consistent table labels
- Event name and subtitle
- Paper sizes and a proof
